Baseball card collectors are sure to scramble for this auction: a 1961 Topps complete set. Some of the names that make the starting bid of $2,500 worth it would be Mantle and Maris. However, a recent article I read should raise some flags, making it a good idea to do your research to see what other legends played during that year.

According to the article, unless the card is a classic, then the current baseball card market simply isn’t retaining the value it used to. However, one or two gems in this collection could make it all more than worth it.
