I didn’t believe they were actually enforcing the hands-free cell phone laws on the road, but they are. I just recently observed a cop tailing a car for about a mile, with the driver chatting away, holding his cell phone. That right there provided some justification to the new law, as this guy was completely oblivious to the trooper right behind him. And just the other day, I had to beep my horn at someone for sitting at a green light while they discussed the newest shows on the Cartoon Network.

On the other hand, unless your phone is completely voice activated, or you’re using both hands to hold your phone, I just don’t see how it makes a difference – hands-free or not. But, if you want to avoid a ticket, check out this auction for a decent headset.
